DAYUM!
I was half expecting this flick to suck after Kevin Smith's last directorial
outing, the dismal Jersey Girl, but he ended up not only making one
hilariously funny comedy, but one that actually has something to say about
adult responsibilities and friendship. The Quick Stop has burned to the ground
and Dante (Brian O'Halloran) and Randall (Jeff Anderson) have gotten jobs at
the local Mooby's fast food restaurant. Dante is planning on moving to Florida
with his fiancee, but he has feelings for his down-to-Earth boss (Rosario
Dawson) and begins to get second thoughts during his last day at work. It's
raunchy, sometimes disgusting (that donkey show scene was pretty nasty, but I
think I pulled a muscle in my neck from laughing so hard), filled with non-stop
expletives and racial slurs (Randall's crusade to take back a certain one had
me in stitches), but in the end it's actually kind of a heartfelt comedy for
adults. Well worth the wait!
