Slither

Now this is what a horror/comedy is supposed to be. Fairly reminiscent of the way Evil Dead 2 mixes the two genres, this goofy thriller hits all the right buttons to make it entertaining to fans of both. The characters are fun, especially Nathan Fillion's sheriff and Gregg Henry's mayor ("Look it up cocksucker!"), Elizabeth Banks is freakin' hot as hell as Starla, the gore flows freely (the exploding chick was great) as does the great one liners ("She packs a boxed lunch") and even though the movie is played for laughs, the movie at times is kinda freaky and it takes the time to develop the major players pretty well before the shit hits the fan. Writer/Director James Gunn (a Troma graduate) knows his way around this type of movie and it shows since its fun from beginning to end. Well worth the ticket (and DVD) price.
