Walk the Line

This Oscar nominated bio-pic about Johnny Cash didn't exactly paint a pretty picture of the beloved singer, and it didn't exactly make for a great movie either. While I do have to give props to the screenwriter and director for showing the darker side of Cash's life (his obsessions, his totally fucked up childhood, his drug abuse) it just didn't do it for me. Joaquin Phoenix is wonderful in the role of Cash (he even sang all the songs), but Reese Witherspoon won an Oscar for this? I'm sorry, but she's not all that. Plus I don't like where the story ends since it just kind of leaves you hanging. I wanted to know what he was like after the events of the movie. Do I smell sequel?
