Dark Water (2005)

Jennifer Connelly needs to do a comedy badly. She keeps picking these slow character based dramas/thrillers that aren't exactly great cinema (although I sort of liked Hulk). I have seen the Japanese film this is a remake and I have to say that I never found that film to be slow or boring in any way, unlike this one with is dull dull dull. Her apartment is haunted and the spirit of a dead little girl taunts her and her young daughter through some icky black water that comes from a hole in their ceiling, but is it real or is it a figment of her imagination (she's been known to have psychotic episodes due to harsh migraines). The story hasn't been changed in the translation, it's just been haplessly directed. Too bad since it has a great cast and some decent visuals. The end was predictable and hokey as well.
